About Need2Read

Proceeds from entry fees and sponsorships benefit the Need2Read™ literacy programs at the following schools: Ann St., Castelar, Logan St., Solano Ave. and Tenth Street Elementary Schools. In addition, event proceeds are also donated to non-profit community organizations.

2009 beneficiaries include: Alpine Recreation Center, Alpine Striders, Central City Action Committee, Chinese Historical Society of Southern California, Chinatown Senior Citizens Service Center, Friends of the Chinatown Library, Chung Wah Chinese School, Chinatown Teen Post and Asian American Tutorial Project-UCLA.
