This was my first 5k of the year! We took the goldline metro in from highland park. It only took about 10 minutes and it was easy. WE got off the train and BAM we were there at the 5k! This course was very hilly but do-able! It was such a great view all the way through and I really enjoyed the event as my first race of the year! I will definitely be doing it again! =) Join me!

Great 5k and 10k. It's tough... but the atmosphere is a good one!

Every year I participate, it's a great experience. Even if you are not athletic, by any means, it's a great community event with a scenic course. There are great photo opportunities while on the course and you'll see lots of folks stop to take photos and admire the views.

This was one of the funnest races I have done in a while. Course is perfectly marked with many water stops and volunteers and cones. Great pre race events with dancing dragons, Laker girls and 100,000 fireworks that are really loud but awesome. Results were posted with 30 minutes and were right the first time. Great job Chinatown!!

This was my first Firecracker, and I can only hope it's the first of a new tradition. The staff was wonderful, the perks nice (free post-race beer!), and the pageant rich and colorful! Just awesome!

1,000 Firecrackers set-off with LA Laker girls, Lion Dancing, and Pop (new movie) characters showing you how to "warm up"... Heck yes. There were also Miss Chinatown and Princesses after the race for picture taking opps.

Not to mention a mile long uphill followed by a short half mile teaser and then an even steeper half mile uphill (again). Awesome views of Downtown city buildings and the mountains, awesome hills, great route, great race.

This run is definitely a MUST! This is my friends and mines yearly 10k favorites. This is a well organized run that is absolutely fun packed. I've done the 30 mile bike ride and the 10k run, both end with an awesome goodie bag and a free beer garden. The only run that I've been to that offers FREE BEERS! Well organized event: taiko drummers, dance performers, celebs, samples and etc.

Definitely the best 10k I've run in a long time. Very well organized, lots of giveaways in the goodie bag, tons of refreshments afterward (including free beer). The course was a tough uphill for the first 2.5 miles, but the views and the added signs for specific viewing spots, really made this an enjoyable run. The volunteers were awesome and all along the course with water and split times. Great job!!
