Bio: The San Gabriel Valley Chinese Cultural Association was founded in 1968 to encourage and promote the enrichment of Chinese language and culture and to share these interests with the community-at-large. The association has a Chinese language school that offers both Mandarin and Cantonese classes. The school also teaches fine arts, Kung fu calligraphy, cooking, and history. There is also a Mommy and Me Class and adult language class.
The association has a youth group that offers lion and dragon dancing. They have been to San Francisco for the annual Southwest Airlines New Years parade. They participated in past Miss Chinatown pageants in Los Angeles as well as Dodger Stadium events, and commercials for Southwest Airlines. They have been features in America’s Next Top Model and Journey Man. Recent performances have included Staple center half-time for the Clippers, Bob Hope Charity Ball and fund raiser for Children’s Hospital.

Bio: Las Palmas Grupo Folklorico is an after school Mexican folkdance group open to 3rd, 4th and 5thgrade students and Community members of Palms Elementary School, located in West Los Angeles. Las Palmas dancers perform at various school and community events throughout the school year including the school’s International Day Celebration, Black History Month, Knott’s Berry farm, Downey Theater, the Loa Angeles Chinatown Firecracker Run Nite ‘N Day Festival, Fiesta la Ballona and the St Augustine’s Church carnival. Our student and community membership comes from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Volunteer co-directors Derek and Sara Spencer, who have been students and performers of ballet folklorico dance for over 10 years, teach their students traditional regional Mexican folk dances while incorporating instruction in regional Mexican cultures, the historical context of the dances, and basic music concepts with a focus on team work. Las Palmas is also very fortunate to have the support of parents, the school staff and administration and the community.

Bio: Kodama is a group of percussionists from the greater Los Angeles area who are dedicated to performing both traditional and contemporary pieces through the sounds of taiko. The group is primarily composed of working professionals who enjoy spending their free time learning and creating entertaining performance pieces. The group has performed at many events and festivals around the Los Angeles area. Some past public performances include the Japan Expo, the L.A. Tofu Festival, and Nisei Week events. Kodama also performs for private functions such as weddings and corporate events.

Bio: It may seem like déjà vu from the '80's, but much to the delight of their fans, Abrakadabra's founding musicians reunited in 2006 to perform and record once again. Well known in California's South Bay communities for its driving propulsive Latin jazz/pop rhythms, this band boasts a library of 50+ original compositions. Random Voices is UCLA's premiere all-female a cappella group, founded in 1999 by Molly Jones. The group currently boasts fifteen talented ladies and is celebrating its thirteenth year in existence. Random Voices also organizes the California Acapella Festival (happening on April 6 at UCLA!), bringing in collegiate a cappella groups from up and down the west coast. RV has participated in and won many competitions and awards over the years, and is currently in the process of recording their sixth CD. USC Traditional Chinese Dance is USC's first and only traditional Chinese dance team. We aim to promote and preserve Chinese culture through performance. TCDance performs frequently both on- and off-campus and through these performances we hope to further expose the public to traditional Chinese culture. Every February, we host an annual show featuring traditional folk, modern, and hip hop fusion dances, as well as a dance drama.

Yuujou Daiko is a group of friends who have come together after playing taiko together for several years and have created a new taiko group. Yuujou means friendship. Yuujou Daiko is dedicated to share the traditional art of Japanese taiko drumming through discipline, spiritual togetherness, and fellowship.

The Manea Dancers group was founded by Judith Krenz, and has been providing entertainment for over 25 years. Judy has worked with the Tahitian Masters, who judge all competitions, directing dancers in quality and authentic dances from Tahiti. Bill Krenz teaches Male Tahitian Dancing, Samoan Fire Knife, and Tahitian Drumming, and has been trained by the best instructors from Tahiti, Hawaii, Samoa, and New Zealand.
Manea's main objective is to train all their dancers to be good performers so they can provide their customers with the best of Polynesian entertainment.
